eTransmit for Autodesk Revit 2017 is a Revit add-in that packages up all your files for several different uses. Most common it’s used for sending Revit models to clients, but also for internal archiving, exchange models between consultancy partners, just clean up the model, sharing the model between disciplines, upgrading the model. Most people who need to transport their Revit model and all the associated data will either pack all of them up into a zip file and then send it off that way. However, in Revit there is eTransmit feature just like you have in AutoCAD. To use this command you need to not be in a current Revit project.

First off you want to close all your files. You need to select your Revit model and transmitted folder. You can include linked Revit files, CAD links, DXF markups, external keynote file and decal image files. You can also include other files: PDFs, DOCs… Some file types you can’t include but you can manually copy these files to the transmitted folder (point clouds, shared parameter file, lookup tables, material rendering images, Xrefs linked to CAD models, external font files).

eTransmit for Autodesk Revit 2017 is a free software, but you need to be Autodesk subscription customer.

eTransmit for Autodesk Revit 2018 is built-in into Revit software, so you don’t need to install it separately as add-in if you use Revit release 2018.
