BIM Planning

BIM planning is a critical part of the BIM process that contributes to successful project outcomes. It ensures that all stakeholders have a clear understanding of their roles and the overall project goals.

BIM planning involves creating a detailed BIM Execution Plan (BEP) that outlines how BIM will be implemented throughout the project. This includes defining roles and responsibilities, setting out procedures and protocols, and planning for key deliverables and milestones.

Another key document in BIM planning process is the Exchange Information Requirements (EIR). It is developed by the client or owner at the very beginning of a project to define their information requirements. Usually the EIR informs the creation of the BEP, which is developed by the project team.
