Twinmotion allows you to turn your CAD and BIM models into convincing visualizations and immersive experiences in just a few clicks. It is a software for real-time architectural visualization, 3D immersion and VR exploration. Twinmotion is designed for architecture, construction, urban planning and landscaping professionals.
Real-time rendering. Built on Unreal Engine and powered by a robust graphic engine, Twinmotion is capable of producing high quality images, panoramas, standard or 360° videos in mere seconds, allowing fully immersive 3D VR exploration with support for Oculus Rift and HTC VIVE headsets. A simple interface and pictograms make Twinmotion extremely easy to learn and use, regardless of the size and complexity of your project, your material, your IT knowledge and your modeler.
Twinmotion integration. Twinmotion provides plugins for direct synchronization with Archicad, Revit, SketchUp Pro, Rhino (including Grasshopper), Navisworks, 3ds Max, Vectorworks, and other software. Materials and objects are not automatically substituted for Twinmotion materials and objects. Additionally, the platform supports various import formats, including FBX, SKP, C4D, and OBJ files, ensuring compatibility with virtually all 3D content creation programs. For Revit users, Twinmotion provides an integrated version that eliminates the need for exporting models.
Twinmotion plans. Twinmotion offers a free plan for students and small businesses, a plan for larger entities needing Twinmotion Cloud, and an Unreal Subscription that includes Unreal Engine and RealityCapture. Custom plans and regional support are also available for businesses with specific needs.
Summary. By enabling quick and easy creation of high-quality visualizations and immersive VR experiences, Twinmotion improves the way professionals present and experience their projects. The platform’s VR compatibility provides immersive experiences that can be switched from CAD/BIM models in a few clicks.
Typical workflow
- Import and prepare your model. Begin by importing your CAD, BIM, or any 3D model into Twinmotion and enhance it by selecting appropriate materials and adding essential elements from the asset library.
- Optimize lighting and environment. Adjust lighting to match your project’s requirements and create realistic environments by adding forests, vegetation, and altering seasonal settings.
- Finalize and share. Convert your project from BIM to a VR experience, then export it with a single click and share it to the cloud for client and colleague collaboration.
Use cases include architectural visualization, urban planning, and construction phasing.
