CSiBridge is a software for modeling, analysis and design, intended for the engineering of steel and concrete bridge systems. Customized controls and features integrate across an object-based modeling environment to offer an intuitive, practical, and productive computational tool for bridge engineering. Advanced modeling features and sophisticated analysis techniques account for dynamic effects, inelastic behavior, and geometric non-linearity.

Code-based templates streamline the engineering process from model definition through analysis, design optimization, and the generation of comprehensive output reports, complete with data, diagrams, and animations that summarize structural response and design specifications.

Features:

  • Modeling of Bridge Systems
    CSiBridge implements a parametric object-based modeling approach when developing analytical bridge systems. This enables designers to assign bridge composition as an assembly of objects (roadway superstructure, substructure, abutments, piers, foundation system, etc.) before the SAPFire® Analysis Engine, integral to CSI Software, automatically transfers the object-based model into a mathematical finite-element model by meshing the material domain and assigning material properties.
  • Loading and Analysis
    After modeling, CSiBridge provides options for the assignment of load cases and combinations. After the original object-based model has been translated into a finite-element model and subjected to load cases and combinations, the analysis process follows directly.
  • Design and Output
    An automatic design process couples with analysis procedures to coordinate and optimize the resizing of bridge components.

  • Improved loading. Added new vehicles to the AASHTO Rating and Caltrans libraries.
  • Improved design. Added steel frame design according to the AASHTO 2020 LRFD code.
  • Improved output and display. Moving load response recovery has been sped up by means of multi-threading for database tables and the bridge object response display.
  • Improved bridge design and rating. Improved bridge superstructure design per the IRC 2011 code: added detailed calculation reports for flexural and shear design of multi-cell concrete box and concrete T-beam bridge sections.

What’s new in version 23.0.0:

Features Super-T girder bridge modeling and design, analysis speed improvements, job scripting, database tables via API, cloud licensing, and more. It includes improvements to analysis, API, bridge design and rating, Bridge Modeler, data files, and licensing.

  • Improved analysis. Speed improvements to moving load analysis on spine models containing many influence points. Speed improvements nonlinear static, nonlinear multi-step static, and nonlinear direct-integration time-history cases using the advanced or multi-threaded solvers.
  • Improved API. Added access to the database tables through the API.
  • Improved bridge design and rating. Precast Super-T girder design has been implemented according to the New Zealand NZTA Bridge Manual.
  • Improved Bridge Modeler. Layout lines can now be defined using point-of-intersection data. New Super-T girder and bridge-section definitions have been added, including detailed tendon layout. Job scripting has been added to allow automating several CSiBridge actions into one command in order to expedite iterative tasks.
  • Improved licensing. CSiBridge now utilizes cloud licensing by default, allowing access to the license by multiple users and/or from multiple machines.
