COINS Translate for AutoCAD is a free add-in that eliminates need for websites or external tools for translating text/mtext/attributes/multi-leaders. It translates directly in AutoCAD from one language to another. This application is useful and it is easy-to-use. You just need to pick the text you want to translate and choose source and target language. It uses the Microsoft Translator service for translation. In order to run this translation tool a working internet connection is needed.
Typical workflow:
- Start COINS Translate. Enter COINSTRANSLATE in command-line and press Enter.
- Choose the text you want to translate. You can select any text, mtext (multiline text), mleader (multileader), dimension, attributed blocks, tables.
- Choose the languages. The application window will popup. You need to select language you want to translate from, and the language to translate into. In the left pane is the original language of the text. You can keep it on “Detect Language” for automatic language detection. In the right pane you can can navigate the menu to choose the language you want to translate the text to.
- Click “Go”. The translation has been completed for the specified text.
Optionally, you can check “Translate Single and Double Quotes” which controls whether quotes are sent to the translation engine. If your document uses quotes to represent feet and inches then this should be turned off, but if the quotes are used in normal language then it should be turned on to achieve the best results.

- 4.1 Update. Rephrase the message when monthly quota limit reached to make the options clearer. Ensure message on command line displayed when using a custom translation key.
