Crop View for Revit is a free add-in that allows you to quickly crop view by simply dragging the mouse around the new crop region. This eliminates the need to turn on the visibility of the crop region boundary and edit it. Just drag the mouse and the view area will immediately be fixed to the new crop region defined. It’s simple and only one command is included. The tool works on both 2D and 3D views in the project environment but doesn’t work in the family environment. Also the tool doesn’t work in Sheets and Schedules.
Crop View tool is also part of the Alpha BIM bundle that includes nearly 100 tools.
Typical workflow:
- Open a 2D view (plan, elevation, section, drafting views) or 3D view in a Revit project.
- Click the Crop View command located in the Alpha BIM ribbon tab.
- Drag the mouse to define the region of crop view or press ESC to finish.
