e-SPECS for Revit is an add-in that integrates Revit with e-SPECS enabling users to fully or partially automate the preparation of a project specification manual, and ensure that the models and specifications stay in sync. e-SPECS supports the industry-standard Revit parameters to automate and coordinate project specs.
The e-SPECS Binding Manager is used to manage the associations between the Revit Assembly Codes and the e-SPECS specification tags. The Revit Assembly codes are defined by the familiar UniFormat classification system. UniFormat is an industry standard classification system, developed in part by the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and used primarily as a way of categorizing information about building elements, which may contain multiple detailed parts.
e-SPECS for Revit ensures the high quality construction documents without the error-prone manual efforts previously required to produce project specs. All project team members can collaborate within the specs from anywhere in the world, 24/7, with the peace of mind that BIM and the specs are synchronized. e-SPECS version control keeps track of all user edits, making it simple to incorporate comments and changes from multiple sources. Team members can access the project directly in Revit or the accompanying markup application. e-SPECS solutions reduce the time and cost of design as well as improve communication and access to current, pertinent specification information thus further reducing coordination issues, change orders, and RFIs.
e-SPECS supports all specification master libraries of AIA MasterSpec, US Dept. of Veterans Affairs, Canadian Master Specifications and offers the ability to integrate custom masters.
