Ideate BIMLink is a Revit add-on used mainly for Revit data editing tasks. It allows you to extract information from the Revit project and then manipulate that data within Microsoft Excel. You can then pull those changes back into your Revit model for fast, accurate updates. Ideate BIMLink gives you unprecedented access and control for almost all of the data within the Revit building information model.

Ideate BIMLink allows you to edit system, project or family parameters within the Revit model. You can choose to edit parameters that appear within a schedule or even access parameters that are impossible to select when creating a Revit schedule. Additionally, you can use Ideate BIMLink to bulk rename families and types within your project. As well as create new instances of selected categories. Ideate BIMLink gives you unprecedented access and control for almost all of the data within the Revit building information model.

Data management tasks and workflow take a small fraction of the time they once took. The cumulative advantage means more than hours freed. You gain unprecedented access to the Revit modeling data you need, for an enhanced workflow.

Even unseen BIM data can be managed. With Ideate BIMLink, you can take full advantage of Excel’s capability to reveal multiple lines of data at once. Eliminate the ‘double handling’ of data and reduce the chance of manual errors, avoid related costly on-site delays, and remove error-based re-work. BIMLink opens a wide, safe door for collaboration between Revit and non-Revit users, allowing the entire project team to access Revit modeling data for more efficient project management. Improve the speed and accuracy of the data. Enhance the Revit workflow by stretching your per-project hours, saving money and time.

Features:

  • Edit parameters in Schedules
    • Parameter Types: System, Project, Family.
    • Element Data,
    • Quantities,
    • Schedule Keys,
    • Revisions,
    • Issuance List
  • Manage parameters not in Schedules
Parameters that are impossible to select when creating a Revit schedule: offset/elevation, sizes, Design Option, Scope Box, Revisions, Appears in Sheet, etc.

    • Wall rating relative to Door
    • Room location for Elevation View
    • Room/Space Data from linked files
    • Dimension overrides
    • Scope Box, Elevation, Workset, etc.
    • Host Data
    • Coordinates
  • Bulk rename Families and Types
  • Create new instances of selected categories
Areas, Schedule Keys, Masses, Generic Models, Rooms, Sheets, Spaces, Revisions.
    All the Data:

    • Linked file support
    • True multi-category (2D and 3D)
    • Design Options
    • Phase data
  • Quality Control models
Many pre-configured QA/QC links for a variety of model management tasks. A sample link called “QC-MC-WhoDidThis” to audit who modified an element or type within the Revit project.

What’s new in version 2022.0:

General Improvements

  • Support for Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Japanese and Spanish languages.
  • Cloud network licensing works in VDI and other remote access environments.
  • All Ideate Software solutions have been updated to better support the new file path locations required by the change from BIM 360 to the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

New Workflows

  • A new workflow that provides greater flexibility for those that need to map data from elements with differing IDs. If you are currently using lookup formulas to map data from one element or type to another, this workflow should greatly simplify that effort.
  • Setting the values for custom families that use the Family Type parameter. If you have a key plan family nested into your titleblock, or a door panel nested into your door panel, or an annotation family nested into your device, you’ll be delighted by this new feature.

New Content

  • All sample content has been translated into the supported languages and will be automatically set as the default when the corresponding version of Revit is used.
  • Beyond Schedules. The Beyond Schedules content folder contains samples for the many data categories that are supported by Ideate BIMLink but are not supported by Revit Schedules.
  • Create Elements. Many new link definitions available under the new “Create Elements” folder found within New Link dialog.
  • Health Check Links. A new coordinate data is available within the Project Information data category.
  • Project Standards Links. Added 5 new properties to wall, floor, ceiling and roofs, to help you review the duplicates.
  • Quality Control Links. Added a few new properties that can be used to audit your Revit linked file relationships.
