About construction management
Construction management is the process of managing all aspects of a construction project from planning to building. A typical construction project usually involves hundreds of people that are working together to build a project for an owner. And they have a leader. On a large construction project, there are usually a whole team of leaders that we call construction managers. The key responsibilities of construction managers are making sure the project is delivered on time and on budget. The leader of whole team of leaders is the senior project manager. He has knowledge and experience so that he can map out the whole process from start to finish.
The team of leaders includes the following construction management professionals: a construction manager working with the design team to help develop plans and specification; a construction estimator, or quantity surveyor that estimates and controls costs; a construction scheduler that manages time and determines how long it’s going to take to build; a construction manager that hires subcontractors specialized in different aspects of the work; construction managers employed by subcontractors; a project superintendent that runs the day-to-day field operations; construction managers on the site watching over things like safety or quality control.
All of these construction management professionals are working together to deliver a project to the owner that’s safely built, on time, and within budget. The whole time, senior project manager is overseeing all of the activity making sure everyone did their job safely. - Unique ID for Field Reports: each field report has their own unique ID, making referencing and reporting on field reports a lot more easier for you.
- RFI and Field Report photos in Gallery: now you can find all photos that were uploaded as an attachment to an RFI or a Field Report in the gallery.
- Photo tagging: add customized tags to photos to capture even more information. You can also filter photos in the gallery based on tags.
- Copy Field Report templates across projects.
- Signatures on native Field Report templates: signatures can be required and can also have a date and option to add a note.
