Tekla Tedds is the tool for automation of your repetitive structural calculations while improving your ability to create professional project documentation. As an engineer you might be required to use various software, spreadsheets or even hand calculations to carry out your elemental design. You’re then required to compile professional looking reports from various file formats or even handwritten documents. Tekla Tedds allows you to easily automate your day-to-day structural design calculations from steel and concrete members, foundations, retaining walls, slabs, etc. When finished all these calculations can be compiled in a professional and detailed format making changes quick and easy. When finished it can be printed on company letterhead and submited to municipality or third-party for review.
Tekla Tedds has a regularly updated library of calculations. Also engineers can write their own calculations which can be reviewed, saved away and made accessible to engineers for future use.
Note: Trials for Tekla Tedds and Tekla Structural Designer are delivered by a single Structural Design installer. The Tekla Tedds trial consists of three stages: download and install, register and activate (if you are new to Trimble products), begin the trial (via the “My licenses” tab in your Tekla Online Profile).
Tekla Tedds integrations
Tekla Tedds integrates with other Trimble software including:
- Tekla Structural Designer. Tekla Structural Designer transfers the design forces to the appropriate Tedds calculation where you can check and refine your design of specific structural elements. The final properties for the elements will then be updated in the Tekla Structural Designer model.
- Tekla Structures. With Tekla Tedds Integrator, an extension for Tekla Structures, you can link Tedds documents to Tekla Structures models.
- Trimble Connect, for construction project collaboration on desktop, mobile and web.
Tekla Tedds V2021 updates (changelog)
Version 2021 SP2:
- Writing custom calculations: Reduced the storage size of individual calc items by up to 75%. RTF data is pre-processed in order to remove unnecessary information in the RTF, when saved to a Calc Library.
- Tedds for Word: User interfaces embedded in documents support the _CalcUI variable. New optional Debug command button. Enhanced Save Marked Up Calc Items command.
- Progress log: New option to indent the items listed in the progress log.
