BIMsmith is a free cloud platform for Revit users offering a comprehensive library of product data and building materials, enabling users to quickly and efficiently build accurate models that are tailored to their project needs. The Revit plugin allows for seamless integration between Revit and BIMsmith Market, which is a vast library of Revit families; and BIMsmith Forge, a cloud-based platform for configuring building systems. It also allows users to utilize all three BIMsmith tools, including Forge, Market, and My BIMsmith, directly within Revit. However, users can also use these tools independently through a browser and then import the families or assemblies into Revit. By quickly loading families and configuring entire building systems, such as walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs, the plugin streamlines the design process and ensures accuracy and consistency.

Typical Workflow:
- Find and download Revit families: Browse BIMsmith Market for Revit families and download them using the BIMsmith Revit plugin. You can use filters to narrow down your search and find families that meet your specific needs.
- Configure system assemblies: Click on BIMsmith Forge in the BIMsmith tab of Revit to create custom building assemblies.
- Design with Revit families: Design your building using Revit’s tools and the vast library of families and systems in BIMsmith.
- Collaborate and share your project with team members using My BIMsmith’s cloud-based platform. You can also export your project to other formats, such as PDF or DWG
