GeoToCAD for Autodesk Revit is no more available for download. The technology preview was shared with the community to demonstrate the general possibilities.
GeoToCAD for Autodesk Revit demonstrates options for establishing a bi-directional connection between Autodesk Revit and ArcGIS, a geospatial platform. Following the high interest of users in CADtoEarth, a technology demonstration of linking CAD modeling environments with Cesium, AMC Bridge developed GeoToCAD, which is a result of research on integrated solutions for modelling urban environments.
AEC is one of the primary industries that AMC Bridge serves, therefore integrated solutions using geospatial and BIM data are among the most important directions of the company’s research activities.
The solution offers the following functions:
- Connect to ArcGIS.
- Export a 3D model from Revit to ArcGIS.
- Import a selected area of the Earth surface from ArcGIS to Revit.
- Place a model on the selected surface and then preview this model on ArcGIS map.
- Save a model placed on the surface as a 3D PDF file.
The GeoToCAD gallery has buttons:
- Get Surface. Provides functionality to specify an area of a surface on the Earth and to import it to Revit.
- Export to ArcGIS. Provides functionality to place a 3D model from Revit onto Earth, to control its appearance: move, rotate, change size, and to save it to a 3D PDF file.
- About. Launches the GeoToCAD About dialog.
What’s new in version 1.0.0.55:
- Support for Revit 2020.
- Fixed connection issue with ArcGIS.
- Updated width of the surface line.
- Updated link to 3D buildings.
- Added control to select the line width of the marker used to select surface during import.
