Grid Line for AutoCAD is a free add-in that allows you to automatically label your grids, and set various parameters for grid line and label. You can specify line extension length, label indicator (alphabetical or numeric), label frame dimension (cater the circles to the specific radius), and label height (text size). The add-in provides easy-to-follow command line prompts. Follow command line keywords to change default parameters. Also, it has options for labeling at the start, end or both of the grid line. Circle and grid line are created as separate entities.

There is also the paid version of the app – Grid Line Pro – that allows you to draw customizable grid lines and edit its properties.

Typical workflow:

Go to Add-Ins ribbon tab, and click the Grid Line button. Or write GRIDLINE in command-line and press Enter.
Specify the first point to draw grid line with default parameters, or select a keyword for changing parameters.
You can change default values for:
- Capital letter or number for label of grid line (default is A).
- Grid line extension length (default is 250).
- Grid label frame radius (default is 35).
- Grid label height (default is 35).
- Specify if you want to add label (circles) to the start, the end, or both (default is both).
Specify the second point of the grid line.
Repeat these steps for each grid line.
Press Escape or Enter to cancel the command.
