Group Clashes for Navisworks is a free add-in that enables you to group and sort your clash results. With this add-in you can easily organize the 1000s of clashes found in complex models. All you need to do is to select a clash test, a grouping rule, and start sorting your clashes.

Typical workflow:

  1. Open the Group Clashes window. When you install Group Clashes add-in, a new tab appears in Navisworks Manage with the button to launch the Group Clashes window. This window shows the list of all clash tests available in your Navisworks file.
  2. Select a clash test. When you select a clash test you can see below the two selections involved in the clash test. These selections can be models, files, search sets, selection sets, etc.
  3. Select a grouping rule. Select one or multiple clash tests and use “Group by” option under Grouping Mode. There are multiple grouping modes that allow you to group clashes by: the nearest level; nearest grid intersection; elements belonging to Selection A or Selection B; and status, approval or assignment.
“Then by” option allows you to apply a second rule to group your clashes (Group by … then by …). Navisworks Manage does not support subgroups for clashes, so the group name will include the result of the two rules.
Selecting the “Keep Existing Groups” checkbox you can keep all existing groups in the clash test.
  4. Group clashes. Click “Group”. If you selected multiple clash tests, the same grouping rules will be applied to all selected clash tests. You can use the “Ungroup” button to remove all groups in the selected clash test(s).

What’s new in version 1.1.5:
