Xrev Transmit for Revit is a documentation tool that provides print & export functionality, transmittal generation, and Aconex integration. This add-in enhances Revit’s built-in functions Print/Export and eTransmit. Also Xrev Transmit allows you to publish exported files directly from Revit to Aconex, the Oracle’s project management and collaboration platform for construction. Xrev Transmit uses the specific PDF writer – bioPDF – and it will be installed together with the app. With Xrev Transmit you can automate your documentation task in Revit and save a lot of time.

Typical workflow:

The add-in provides a step-by-step process for printing and exporting documents, generation of transmittal letters, and publishing to Aconex.

Configure Settings. At first you need to open “Settings” and configure global and project settings, formats, and contact list. Check output locations, naming and numbering rules, date formats, etc.
Print and export
1. Settings. Make sure that you configured all issue settings in the first step.
2. Start the “Print & Export” wizard. Go to the Add-Ins ribbon tab and click the “Print & Export” button in the Xrev Transmit toolset.
3. Go through the wizard. Select sheets that you want to print/export. Select formats: the supported formats are DGN, DWG, and PDF. Set Project Information: there you can see project parameters from your Project Information, including Project Number, Project Name, Client Name, Project Address, and Project Status; in the “Issue Information” toolbox you can select the “Issue Reason” and enter the “Issue Name”.
4. Generate documents. Click the “Issue” button to start the issue process. You can see the progress status, and the report at the end of the process.
Generate transmittal letters
1. Settings. Make sure that you configured all transmittal settings in the first step.
2. Start the “Transmittal” wizard. Go to the Add-Ins ribbon tab and click the “Generate Transmittal” button in the Xrev Transmit toolset.
3. Go through the wizard. Select sheets that you want to transmit; table shows you sheet number and name, revision data, sheet issue date, scale, and sheet size. Set transmittal details: you need to set date, formats (DXF, DWG, DGN, DWF, PDF, Print, RVT), reason and name of the issue, by whom is issued, paper sizes. Create distribution list: check or create new recipients (first and last name, and company name).
4. Generate the transmittal document. Click the “Generate” button to start the process. When the process is finished you can see report or the transmittal document.
Publish files to Aconex
1. Settings. Make sure that you configured all Aconex settings in the first step.
2. Start the “Aconex” wizard. Go to the Add-Ins ribbon tab and click the “Publish Aconex” button in the Xrev Transmit toolset.
3. Go through the wizard. Login to your Aconex account. Select files that you want to publish to Aconex.
4. Publish. Click the “Publish” button to start the process.
