SYNCHRO 4D Pro is 4D BIM / VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) software for construction scheduling and project management. It allows you to plan and manage construction projects in a 4D environment. While using 4D, the computer becomes a practice field where sequences, safety, special relationships and more can be viewed and discussed continuously before and throughout the project lifetime.

SYNCHRO Pro is a fully integrated 4D construction planning platform. Because SYNCHRO Pro links 3D Resources (human, material, equipment, and space) to the associated Schedule tasks, making changes and comparing baselines to alternatives is quick and easy.

Speaking of change, SYNCHRO Pro allows you to save multiple scheduled baselines and then synchronize back and forth with popular scheduling software such us Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or Excel, with full control over which elements of the schedule to synchronize. In other words, you can easily bring Pimavera schedule changes in SYNCHRO Pro or export SYNCHRO’s schedule changes to Primavera. ASTA Powerproject integration is also included at no extra cost for all SYNCHRO Pro named license subscriptions.

And this doesn’t just apply to schedules. SYNCHRO Pro can import and synchronize updates from almost any 3D modeling software. This includes dedicated plugins for Revit, Navisworks and MicroStation as well as direct import of SketchUp files, IFC, FBX and much more.

About VDC

VDC or Virtual Design and Construction is an outcome-based technology used to create digital models of construction sites and buildings for use by the AEC industry. It uses information from the 3D BIM model and other schedules to digitally plan out all aspects of a construction project such as cost management, schedule management, risk management and site safety and logistics planning. VDC goes beyond 3D BIM and it actually represents “BIM to field”.

VDC involves the use of a Digital Twin technology. A digital twin is a digital or virtual copy of physical objects. The term was originally coined by Grieves in 2002, for manufacturing industry. In VDC, digital twin means building twice (first virtual, then real) to fully simulate design and construction in a virtual environment first prior to actual execution on site. The process includes systematically modeling what is to be built, rehearsing what is to be built, and building what was modeled and rehearsed.

About 4D BIM

4D BIM modelling refers to the process of adding the element of time to the 3D model. It links the 3D BIM model with the project construction schedule accurately for providing useful data related to construction sequencing, resource scheduling and site logistics planning.
