Arkio is a 3D modeling and collaboration software for spatial architectural design in VR and AR, using desktop and mobile devices. It enables designers to model urban plans, buildings and interiors in VR and AR, using parametric shapes; this is a step ahead of more photo-realistic VR tools that provide limited options for design. Arkio has a role to play not only when it comes to physical architecture but to virtual architecture as well, building out the metaverse. In many ways Arkio is the only design tool where you can design virtual architecture inside VR. The main focus is on the early conceptual phase of an architectural project.

One of the most advanced Arkio’s feature is pass-through modeling. Blend together the physical reality and the virtual reality when you’re designing. For example, you can add a new wall to your home, you can add a new extension to your house, you can even create magic portals between reality and the virtual world. With the pass-through feature you can essentially mark out geometry or physical objects rather in the real world that you’re gonna take with you into the VR scene.

Arkio offers several pricing plans. You can start with the Free plan that has all the basic modeling features. You can try multi-user and the pass-through modeling. The Plus plan is for hobbyists, indie game designers, metaverse creators. It supports spatial design and has Unity integration. The Pro plan is intended for professional architectural workflows. And Enterprise plan has some more advanced features and support.

Note: You can install Free version of Arkio and activate a free 14 day trial of Pro version on your device. Just enter your email in the Settings panel under the License tab.

Arkio integrations

Plugins

Arkio integrates seamlessly with your design workflow. PC version of Arkio includes plugins for Revit, Rhino and SketchUp. You can import 3D models from your design software to Arkio, collaborate and sketch new designs in real-time inside Arkio, then export your updates back. Arkio plugin for Unity allows you to export your Unity scenes to Arkio. You can export to Revit and visualize in Enscape.

Supported formats

Revit exporter gives you clean solid geometry that can be exported to DWG, IFC, SAT and STL in Revit. You can also import/export OBJ, GLB and CSV (program data) formats. Import images (PNG for drawings, and JPG for pictures) and LiDAR scans. Import TestFit generated models.

CDE integrations

Arkio integrates with BIM 360. Add Arkio import and export functionality to your BIM 360 projects.
